Sergio Aguero Player Review

Sergio Aguero - Kun Aguero

Sergio Aguero Player Review

Sergio "El Kun" Aguero's career has just ended sooner than he would have wished, and a heart problem has meant that we cannot enjoy this deadly scorer on the fields. The player showed his ability to define from his beginnings in Independiente de Avellaneda, as in the under-20 categories of the Argentine national team.

Sergio Aguero started his career playing for Independiente de Avellaneda. On July 5, 2003, he became the youngest player to play in the Argentine First Division at 15 years and 35 days, beating the record held by Diego Maradona since 1976. Thanks to his low center of gravity and his great lower body, the Argentine was always an explosive player. This biomechanical factor allowed him to execute quick actions inside the area, get rid of opponents easily, and shoot at the goal with precision and effectiveness.

Sergio Aguero: A Successful Career

After a remarkable 2005-06 season, he was transferred to Atlético de Madrid. There, he established himself as one of the greatest players in Europe. Indeed, he won the Don Balon, Golden Boy, and World Soccer awards for the World's Best Young Player. Aguero scored 101 goals in 234 appearances for Atlético, winning the Europa League and the European Super Cup before joining Manchester City in England. The citizen club was the most transcendent of his career, and in it, he achieved his greatest successes. On the final matchday of his first season with "the citizens," he scored a goal in the last moments of the final matchday that gave the club the Premier League title after a 44-year drought. In the 2014-15 season, he won the Premier League Golden Boot, and in November 2017, he became the top scorer in the club's history.

Also, he was named to the PFA Team of the Year in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. He is the fourth top scorer in the history of the Premier League and is the top non-English scorer in the history of the competition, with 184 goals. Additionally, Aguero holds the record for the most hat-tricks achieved in the Premier League, with twelve. On May 23, 2021, he scored two goals in his last match in the Premier League, becoming the player with the most goals scored for the same club in the English league, with 260 goals. Internationally, he won the 2005 and 2007 U-20 World Cups for Argentina. He contested the 2008 Beijing Olympics, scoring two goals in the semifinals against Brazil, and those goals allowed Argentina to reach the final and win the gold medal against Nigeria.

He represented Argentina in the 2010, 2014, and 2018 World Cups with the senior team. Likewise, he participated in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2021 America Cups, championing the latter. During his career of 800 matches, he achieved 442 goals and provided 140 assists. Sergio Aguero was excited to start a new stage in the Barcelona Football Club and participate in a World Cup for the fourth time. However, his career was cut short at the age of 33 by an arrhythmia discovered last October after a match for the Spanish League. Sergio el Kun Aguero's sports career as a footballer has been brilliant. It only remains to wish him a fast recovery from his health problem and the best of luck in this new stage of his life.
